Sarah Eccles-Brown, M.D.
Dr. Eccles-Brown grew up in Florida and has served the Fort Myers community since 2016. She is dedicated to providing patients and their families with excellent surgical care and treatment of advanced eye disease. As a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, Dr. Eccles-Brown is an experienced, empathetic and committed physician who works to give every patient individualized care and attention. She specializes in refractive cataract surgery, microinvasive glaucoma surgery, blepharoplasty and cosmetic procedures striving to customize each intervention to the patient.
Dr. Eccles-Brown is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. “My goal is to provide each patient with the same high-quality eye care I would want for my own family member.”
In her free time, Sarah enjoys running, yoga, paddle-boarding and all water activities, traveling, learning foreign languages such as Spanish and Korean, baking and singing at church and with her children. Sarah and her husband have been married since 2004 and they love spending time with their three young sons.
Dr. Eccles-Brown graduated magna cum laude earning two Bachelor’s degrees from Florida State University in 2004 with one degree in Biological Science and the other degree in Psychology. She completed medical school at New York Medical College in 2008, earning her MD along with election to the prestigious medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. She served as an active duty Air Force officer while completing her ophthalmology residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas from 2008 to 2012. Unique and valuable experience was gained at the Level 1 Trauma Center and while caring for patients in the Burn Ward who were flown in from all over the state of Texas as well as active duty members injured abroad in the line of duty.
Before her time in Fort Myers, Dr. Eccles-Brown was a Major in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base from 2012-2016 where she had the honor of serving the active duty, retiree and dependent population of Northwest Florida as a comprehensive ophthalmologist.
